Monday, September 21: According to police, a 65-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her “mentally disturbed” husband during a fight on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
Around 11.30 am, the victim, Zanfer Bi, was allegedly struck on the head with a hammer by her husband Mohd Khalil inside their home in Ari village.
According to the officials, the woman passed away immediately. Her body was then taken to the sub-district hospital in Mendhar for a post-mortem, and her husband was detained by the police.

According to early investigations, the old couple’s three sons who are employed overseas used to argue frequently because of the husband’s fragile mental state. According to the officials, one of their daughter-in-laws was also there in the home and sounded the alarm when the victim was attacked. They added that the neighbors sprang into action as soon as they learned about the occurrence and managed to apprehend Khalil.
